The Days of Manually Checking Each Shipped Order
Our team opened Google Sheets every morning to confirm which orders had been shipped. Then we manually clicked the "Completed" checkbox. About 20 to 50 orders per day.
At first, we thought "this isn't too bad." After a month, the inconvenience became obvious.
Oh, did I check yesterday's but forget today's?
Did I already mark that one and somehow check it again?
Are our shipping statuses even accurate?
As errors increased, we realized: "This is something a bot should handle."
The Simple Request We Gave Claude Code
Our conditions for Claude Code were straightforward.
1. Refresh the Google Sheet on our Windows device every hour
2. Find cells with shipping tracking numbers
3. If a tracking number exists, automatically check the "Completed" checkbox
4. Prevent duplicate markings
The bot's implementation was remarkably clean.
Detect tracking number → Verify status → Check box ON → Log record
Just three lines of code.

What We Did With That Time
The most surprising part wasn't just the time saved, but the "new tasks that became possible."
• Organized new buyer lists (we didn't have time before)
• Added an automatic shipment delay alert system
• Generated weekly sales reports automatically
Once we stopped lifting a finger for something that could be automated, that finger became available for more important work.
Conclusion
Repetitive clicking in Google Sheets is what bots do best. Especially checkbox marking, dropdown selection, and simple copy tasks are Claude Code's specialty customers.
