The Last Card Was Always Empty
The closing card of a card-news post usually ends with a stock line like 「Follow us for more」. Our dream team content bots did the same. The earlier cards got real care, but the last one was copy-pasted every single time.
A Small Experiment
So we changed it for just three weeks. Odd-numbered posts kept the old closing line, and even-numbered posts got one question on the last card.
Which one thing from today could you use in your own work right away?
We compared a single metric: saves per post. The Mac mini bot logged it every morning as one row in a table.
Results
• Old closing line: 12 saves on average
• One-line question: 19 saves on average
The sample is small, so we won't call it conclusive. But replies like 「I'll start with number 2」 began showing up in the comments, and that was a clear change.
What We Learned
1. Keep the question short. Anything past two lines simply went unread.
2. We did not translate the question literally. The Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, and English versions were each reworded to sound natural in their own language.
3. Giving one bot sole charge of the log meant the comparison table never had a blank day.
Last-card rules
• One line only
• A question with no single right answer
• Write each language separately
No fancy feature was involved, only one changed line. For the next three weeks, we plan to compare question types, multiple-choice style versus open-ended.
