「If They Remember Just One Thing?」Asking the Bot First Cut Card Revisions from 3 Rounds to 1

Before making a card, we had the bot write the one sentence a reader would remember after 3 seconds. Over two weeks and 18 cards, revision requests dropped from about 3 to 1 on average.

Revisions Kept Bouncing Back Three Times

When we handed card drafts to the bot, they always looked nice, but afterward readers were left asking, 「So what was that about?」 Each card carried three or four messages at once. As a result, revision requests went back and forth about 3 times per card.

The Only Change: Question Order

Before any design or copywriting, we made the bot answer this first.

If the reader remembers just one thing 3 seconds after reading this card, what is it?

Write it as one sentence first, and start production only after I confirm.

Steps You Can Copy

1. Open the instruction file (CLAUDE.md) in your working folder.

2. Paste the two lines above under a heading like 「Rules before starting」.

3. When you request a new card, the bot shows its one sentence first.

4. If it is right, reply 「good」. If not, fix only that sentence.

5. The confirmed sentence becomes the anchor for the title and body.

Two-Week Result

Across 18 cards, revision rounds fell from about 3 to 1 on average. The nature of the feedback surprised us even more. It used to be vague, like 「it feels complicated」. Now it is specific, like 「the sentence to remember is different」, so the cause is visible right away. Fixing one sentence takes about 10 seconds, far lighter than tearing apart a finished card.

Bonus: Multilingual Got Easier

Once the one sentence is set, the Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, and English versions all translate from it. The slow drift of the message between languages became noticeably rarer.

Before asking for design, write the conclusion in one line. It is an order that works for people and bots alike.
