One Extra Line on the Last Card Moved Average Saves from 18 to 27

We kept the design untouched and added a single 「next episode teaser」 line to the last card for two weeks. Here is how a non-developer can repeat the test with one spreadsheet.

We Added One Line to the Last Card

When you make card news, the question never goes away: what should I change to get a different reaction? This time, instead of redesigning everything, we ran a small two-week experiment. We added a single 「next episode teaser」 line to the last card and changed nothing else.

Experiment Design (for non-developers)

Change exactly one thing. Keep everything else the same.

1. Record the save counts of the 6 card news posts from the past two weeks in a spreadsheet.

2. For the next two weeks, post 6 cards on the same weekdays and at the same times, but add the teaser line only to the last card.

3. Compare the average saves of the two periods side by side.

We asked Claude Code for the teaser copy like this.

Suggest 5 「next episode teaser」 lines for the last card, about 12 characters each.

Do not overlap with the previous episode. Do not touch any other files.

Result

Average saves went from 18 to 27. With only 6 posts per period, some of that may be luck, so we plan to run the same test once more.

What We Learned

• Change one thing at a time, or you will never know what worked.

• A teaser is a promise to your readers, so the next episode has to actually show up.

• We log the numbers in a sheet on the Windows device, and a bot on the Mac mini summarizes them weekly, so the record never breaks.

A small experiment does not need to be grand. This week, try adding just one line to the last card.
